Is it better to wire the two ovens with separate 13amp fused spurs on the extended ring main and wire the hob from the dedicated 45amp feed or would it be ok to wire the 45amp feed from the cooker switch to a 60amp junction box and then spur two separate 13amp fused feeds for the ovens as well as the hob 45amp feed from the same 60 amp junction box?[/u][/b]

you're not giving us much info here..
you neglect to mention if the hob is electric or gas..
if it's electric what is it's KW rating?
what is the KW rating of the ovens?
are you sure that the cooker feed is 45A and that the cable size is adequate to take that load?

you cannot put the 2 ovens on the ring main..

you need to install a seperate feed for them.. a 4mm 32A would do with 2 individual sockets or FCU's for connecting the cookers..

if the hob is gas and only requires an electrical connection for the igniter then you may be able to connect the ovens to the 45A supply..

Sorry for not responding earlier, got tied up on something.

Both the cookers and 'Electric' hob collectively do exceed 10kw overall.

Ovens are 2.9kw each and Electric Hob is 2.2kw. Cooker installation instruction say connect to a 13amp switched fused connection.

Those figures do not agree.

So why are you asking about putting the hob on a 45A circuit? 2.2kW is less than 10A.

Things might be a little less confusing if you took note of this:
  • Oven - a rectangular box, the inside of which can be heated to cook or heat items by surrounding them in hot air.
  • Hob - a flat surface with several individual sections which supply heat directly to the bottom surface of items placed on it.
  • Cooker - an integrated unit containing a hob and at least one oven.

To save any further confusion, my mistake:-

30 amp feed exists to kitchen

Intention is to install:-
2 x built in single fan assisted ovens which manufacturers state have a rating of 2.9KW each.
1 x electric ceramic hob which the manufacturers state has a rating of 2.2KW.

1 x electric ceramic hob which the manufacturers state has a rating of 2.2KW.

Doesn't sound right. Are you sure you're not mixing up kW and the kWh nonsense that manufacturers seem to plaster all over the box?

2.2kW is about the rating of one of the rings usually.

I agree with aptsys, the hob itself is usually around 6Kw total load
how many rings are there on the hob :?:

so that's 12.6KW total..
and about 55A.. so no, your 30A circuit isn't going to cut it..

the 30A radial is likely to be only a 6mm cable at the most.. may even be a 4mm..

as I said earlier.. you need to run a seperate radial for the ovens.. a 30A 4mm radial shoud do it with 2 x 20A DP switches above counter, each connected to a 13A unswitched socket behind the ovens..
