I had my electric oven replaced by an electrician some time ago, the new oven is slightly deeper than the previous one and now seems to be very close to or touching the copper gas pipe

Will this cause any problems?

Also, should the pipe have an isolator fitted?

Make and model of oven and pictures of pipework will help you get an answer

I will try the weekend, it's quite difficult to picture the rear when it's in place.

Should there be an isolator valve? It was fitted sometime between 2003 & 2004 and its 15mm copper pipe

To isolate what. You should be able to isolate the gas at the meter.
