I have acquired a FreezeMaster FRE350D pipe freezer.

Firstly, should the fan run as soon as it's switched on or does it wait until it gets warm - If the latter, is that likely to be more than 10 minutes.

Secondly, is it typical for 1 of the freeze heads to freeze much faster than the other?

Lastly, any economical source for replacement clamps - or do most folks just jury-rig something?

fan runs straight away.
both my heads freeze equal.

i would say it needs re-filling.

Ditto, fan runs straight away and heads should freeze equally. The clamps are nothing special, buy some normal G-clamps from any DIY shed

Thanks guys! I kinda assumed the fan should run straight off... seems pointless not to draw air though the radiator fins. I can fix that - not looking forward to a refill cost for the gas though....... If car refills are any thing to go by! D'oh!

Check what type of refridgerant it uses - cars use R123a.

If it uses the same, you can go to Halfords and buy a can of top-up for about 15 quid.

hi please help i have had rothenberger rofrost turbo unit for couple of year now, and has been trouble free, but now seems not to want to frz clamps, ive spoking to service centre, they said that machine must have gas block in pipe, and a service charge of around £200 is what its going to cost to sort, which i think when unit cost £650 to me when brought from new seems a little high, just wanted to know if this is right, about block pipe,or is their some think im missing, ive tryed turn machine on then turning off hold pipes upright so gas can run back in to unit, then turning on again still nothing, try this fair few times, anyone know please help::))))
