Our electric shower pressure releasew valve keeps going. I've replaced the valve with a new one and changed the hose and the shower head at the same time in case there was a blockage, but the PRV went straight away again.

What could the problem be and what is the solution please?

If it's failing straight away I would think there's a buildup of pressure somewhere. Maybe try without the head and hose, or just replace the unit?

The valve, is located on the water output side of the heater, so the failure suggests there is too much restriction at the outlet - the hose and the shower head, or the flow is turned up too high. Electric showers, need to be always fitted with the correct shower head, to minimise pressure build-up - do you have the correct head fitted? Might it be one of those shower heads, which includes a switch, to adjust the spray pattern? If so, they can cause the valve to pop.

1. Check the pressure of your incoming mains cold. This requires a pressure gauge like Screwfix item 82412. Attach to a washing machine outlet or garden hose outlet.
2. If the pressure is less than the maximum for the shower (most will take 3 bar):
2.1 Take the head off the hose and run the shower.
2.2 If it runs OK with the head off, change the shower hose and head for one made specifically for the make and model of the shower.
2.3 If it fails with the head off, replace the shower. Remember that you generally can't replace for a more powerful on (greater kW) without changing the wiring.
