Electric Underfloor heating for tiled floor.

I am looking to tile my bathroom floor but want to put electric heating down first. I currently have a chipboard floor so do not want to lay directly onto this.

Do i have to lay ply before putting down the heat mat. If so what size 12mm?

Can i lay tiles diectly onto the heat mat?

Any other suggestions about how to go about this appreciated.

UFH can be put onto ply and if your overboarding then yes I would go with 12mm.

I it them on a bed of adhesive then screw down every 200mm.

The tiles are laid directly on the ufh.

follow up question. Am i able to use marmox board straight onto 22mm chipboard flooring using flexi floor cement?
