I am supposed to be getting a wet underfloor heating system installed. Contractor at last minute is proposing electric. Reasons - cheaper to run, easier to control. Am I being conned? I have a combi boiler and they say that it is very difficult to control underfloor heating (one room only), existing CH and Hot water. All views appreciated.

mmmm a kw of gas around 3p akw of electricity around 8p so his reason is not the whole story :D

the only way electric can be cheaper is if they reduce the heat output by greater than half

Stick with the wet one and make sure a good sparky wires up proper controls for it correctly.

I thought electric was around 16p/Kw these days
