Electrical cabling & CH pipework

Are you saying that the plumber has put this new pipe in the 'cables' notch?
No, the plumber has put a pipe behind the joist running from the CH pipe into the radiator, and parallel to the joist. The cables then cross over the pipe.
Oh, I see. In that case, could you not get the plumber to run that pipe much lower down the joist, perhaps with a bit of insulation around it - so, although still below the cables where they crossed, there was an appreciable distance between pipe and cables?
