Hi.guys n gals


My daughters 1.5 kadjar is having a disco at night when lights are on.

Front fogs nsf failed bulb changed on mot the next day it failed again thinking it was a bulb issue it was left.

It has developed into both front fogs
Start up no fogs
Reverse both front fogs work dispite not woŕking when lights are on
During forward driving the front fogs nsf and osf come on alternating between each one persisting throughout a journey

I would look at the following:

1) What type of bulbs do the fogs use?
2) Were the bulbs always replaced with the correct type? (if originally halogens, they should only be replaced with the exact same halogen type)

2a) If they were not replaced with the correct type and for example "upgraded" with aftermarket LED ones, it may have caused issues.

3) Does this Kadjar have the fog light cornering function?

3a) If it does, and the lights are alternating as you drive, it sounds like there maybe a failure of this function. This could be related to the relay that determines which fog to light up when the steering wheel is turned. You need to work out how this function is controlled and where any relays for it might be located.

4) Check the fuses for the fog lights, just to be sure one is not damaged in some way.


Those are the areas I would start investigating and researching.

Just a thought being a Renault, does the car have a BCM (UCH) module like a Clio does? This controls electrical items in the car, maybe this could be the cause of issues?
