Hi thanks for reading

Has any one had any dealings with this type of damp proofing? I have an old stone built house and some of the external walls are a bit damp and I was thinking of using this system but I don’t no of any one else that has used it so I am unsure how well it work's?

Years ago I bought an old house that had the Rentokil electro-osmotic system installed and the house still suffered from damp but i didn't know much about houses at that time so there may have been other contributing factors.

Having said that, now I know a little more, I don't think I would chose this type of system.

The science may stack up in in theory, but in practice it only takes certain chemicals in the ground/wall/water or certain pressure/high water table, or voids in the mortar, and a few other things to render the system ineffective.

I don't think that any system has been actually proved to work by proper audited scientific testing, and IIRC neither has the BRE approved any system but rather cast doubts on their effectiveness.

Typically the work is done in conjuction with other associated work and it is this other work which is more effective in dealing with the problem
