Electrolux integrated washer dryer rubber boot question

I have a Electrolux washer dryer EWX 14450W and I was cleaning the rubber boot with some excessive pulling and i managed to tension the spring band and its come off so now im planning to open the top and front and completely remove the boot and clean or replace it. Quick question: am I correct in believe that the inner bit of the boot goes around the outer ring not the stainless steel drum as pictured ? Because the drum needs to spin freely so definitely doesn’t seem like the boot connects to the silver stainless steel drum itself. But just wanted to confirm. Picture attached.

Yes.
It may be an optical illusion but that inner drum looks like it is off centre and hanging down somewhat. If so that could be a major problem, either bearings or spider.

It’s an optical illusion. You mean the centre drum that spins right? There’s equal space/gap all around between that and the outer fixed round area where I was asking if the band goes around.

Thank you. I managed to remove the covers and completely remote the rubber boot and thoroughly clean the boot and re-install it because there was mould before and it smelt. I’ve cleaned it but I still do get a bit of a strange smell inside the drum area. I’m thinking could the inside of these grey plastic pieces (pictured in attachment) inside the drum be holding grime and dirt? Do these come off? How can I remove these for cleaning?

They are the paddles. Some just pull toward you and lift out. Others are screwed in and won't without removing the drum assy. and even then you would have to split the outer one which is not always possible. Try doing a 90 degree wash with just a propietry cleaning product but empty drum
