Good Quality 13amp accessories, such as MK, Crabtree, or even Wickes Ultimate Range (The one with the 25years Guarantee), should be safe in carrying 13amps for the immersion.
Once I did an emergency job for a lady with no hot water, the unbranded switch had failed, so I popped out to the local Wickes, and got an Ultimate Range 13amp DP FCU, and used that instead (It was a 3kW element).
It had a very solid switch action, with a reassuring clunk when switched.
