Hi
I'm newbie here and straight away got a question.
I've got a ceiling to paint , it is made of timber, which was varnished some time ago(a few years).
What Iwas thinking is to sand it a bit then ndercoat it and give two coats of emulsion. Do you think it's gonna be OK ?
Or maybe I can do it without undercoting ?
Thanx for any help in advance :)

choose a small area in a corner & try using maybe mdf sealer paint on & leave it to cure for at least 12 hrs then try painting a light coat of emulsion & let that cure for about same time when these coats have dried out gently rub your hand flat across the surface if it feels ok then try a full coat of sealer then one of emulsion but give the stuff time to cure fully or you will get peeling .......good luck....

Yes. Just make sure that the surface is sanded and clean then use oil based undercoat.
