It's one of my favourite bits of DIY.
It was done out of desperation ... 10 years ago ... The tiled wall behind the cistern is 4" away from the house wall to hide the pipework ... effectively cutting off the stop tap access ... a few pieces from a 1/4" socket set and a bit of keyhole surgery later and there you have it.
