Another one for anyone who is around. Replacing extractor in en suite. new one has 2 connection live and neutral. Wiring for the old one has 2 lives and one neutral. I have tested and one is a permanent live and the other a live switched through the pull cord with the lights. Does this mean the old one had a delay timer ? Can I simply connect the new one to the switched live and isolate the permanent liv3. Any advice greatfully received.

Yes

Yes, but your fan will only be on when the light is on - this may not be long enough to clear away moisture etc. You may then be faced with clearing away mould.
