I have a enamelled fireplace that Id like to redo in black. Is it best to have it stripped and redone in black or just by a can of paint and respray it?

Is the fire stove enamelled? You could use some fine wet n dry and flat the surface back a bit then use enamel areosols after.

Yep its a pink/brown mottled effect. I wouldlike it black to match other one in bedroom 2. Was going to send it off to be stripped, but then had this idea of spraying it. So wet n dry sandpaper and then spray. Do I need any special paint? It wont be used but thinking about in future if anyone else uses it.

Is it available in a spray and would I have to use the undercoat by Hammerite?
