Well, we've had a glorious week here in sunny Brittany. Temperatures have been in the high 20's for the last week or so. Some afternoons it was so hot I was working for about one and a half hours and having a half-hour rest, and this was inside!
We had a tiny drop of rain yesterday evening,but nothing worthy of mention. (Good job I didn't say that last night, otherwise some bright spark would ask, "So why did I mention it?")

Skies looking a wincy bit misty at the mo', but I expect the sun will burn that off soon. I could do with it being a little bit cooler this morning as I want to plough the garden. With a little 8HP two-wheel tractor it's hard work. I know, it's not the ideal time to plough the garden but I don't have much choice. I just want to get it ready for some winter beans to keep the weeds down over winter.

Well, I've got to go and continue with the ploughing, in the sweltering heat.
I've done about 8 furrows so far, only about 32 to go. Mind you, it does make the cold beer taste even better!

It's the edges that are the hardest 'cos of the couch grass encroaching onto the previously cultivated ground. The little two-wheel tractor hasn't got the 'umph to cut through it so it just stops ploughing, in the proper sense of the word, and just veers off or rides up.

Where it's relatively free of couch grass it's going through quite easily.

Well, I'm feeling under the weather reading this

Today I went with my brother in law for a lovely stroll along the Thames from Chiswick up to Sheen, through Richmond Park, down through Richmond and along to Kew before we felt a bit weary and got the train back to Turnham Green. The weather was perfect for walking - warm but not too sunny icon_biggrin.gif

Bit of a trek, used to do that on my bike.
Or run from Hammersmith to Putney and back along the towpath.

Going to go with my brother in law, daughter and neice tomorrow. We'll go up to the city for a stroll and start walking back along the river, so the girls can veer off to the shops and public transport when they inevitably tire of our company

Used to do the standard pub crawl along the river from Hammersmith bridge to the Ship, then "inland" to the White Hart near Latimer before walking home to near Chiswick Park station via Andy's Kebab house near Turnham Green station. Ah, happy days
