EU calling for respect.

Bullying smaller nations for a better deal is a perk? OMG

I didn't like it when the EU did it. But it is one of the benefits of being a powerful trading bloc. If one is being objective. It doesn't make sense, though, to impoverish a nation through trade and then send them foreign aid.

Are you implying that it's a good idea to be an, EU member so that we can bully smaller independent nations?
That is what you are saying, right!
Trade deals with small nations thousands of miles away are not of major importance.

42% of British exports go to EU, even more comes back…..so we would be better putting the effort into improving our trading relationship with the EU, it would yield more benefit

Maybe you think 17p off a bottle of Jacobs Creek is worth a trade deal with Oz

Not really a perk if you are paying for it or is that the whole point of membership - to get perks?
Brexit red tape costs more than EU membership fee.

Rules of origin checks
Sanitary and phytosanitary controls
Transit documents
Customs declarations
ATA carnets
Increases in haulage due to delays

All cost far more than EU membership

Poor Mottie still desperately trying to argue against facts

It can be. Not so much when the perks for you are not perks for any one of the other 27member and they try to prevent it from happening.
So you would prefer it if smaller EU member nations could be forced to accept trade deal terms they don’t want.

That’s odd, just a few minutes ago you were upset at the thought of small countries being bullied.

So what percentage of our exports go to the EU now that we are no longer a member?

You won't remember typing that in the morning.

Not everything is about money you know.
To some people it is.
Notchy has stayed with his abusive partner for decades because he believes that if he left he'd be 0.00003% worse off/Yr.
What would the neighbours think
