I need to change the locks on our conservatory exterior doors so I am looking for any recommendations of what make to buy & any websites that you have used. I have had a look online and they range from £5 from Screwfix to £30 from a "specialist" website. I would also like to know if its worth buying 5 pin or the 6 pin antidrill type. I don't mind spending a bit more for good quality rather than buy a lock made of chocolate. I still have to contact the company who fitted the conservatory but being Saturday they are not there. Any help would be much appreciated.

just my opinion but i have never met anyone who was broken into because of poor quality cylinders, your average crook would crow bar your whole door and frame out before picking or drilling your lock.
I suppose you have to take notice of your insurance providers views on cylinders if they have any? but i would buy cheap.

On a conservatory you probably don't use it as your Final Exit door so I don't think you need a keyhole/cylinder on the outside at all.

If you have wooden doors a rack mortice bolt at the top and bottom of each leaf will do a lot of good; on PVC doors you're probably stuck with whatever the maker intended.

Whatever you decide on fitting, ensure the cylinders are fitted correctly (flush with the handles). If UPVC, think about fitting a few sash jammers or other surface mounted bolts - more for show, but it may help move the local pond life onto the next house.
