Remember the cardboard passports?
The 'temporary' ones?

They were useful as a second document when travelling between countries in dispute (such as Israel and Jordan) where a passport stamp from one could render entry to the other virtually impossible.

The 'magic bus' to Athens.
If you've done that journey you'll never forget it!

I spent 76 & part of 77 in Israel, was planning on going back but on the magic bus with a boat trip at the end, about 25 quid for the bus I believe, sadly, never happened, marriage, work etc.
