The installation manual for my Hallstead 80 boiler states that for a fully pumped vented system there should be a minimum head of water between the underside of the expansion tank and the top of the boiler of 1.2m. On my loft mounted boiler there is a mere 320 m.m. what problems can I expect as a result of this? The system has been in place for 8 years and works ok except that the bungalow takes about 6 hours to get up to temperature on cold mornings. Would this low head of water effect the boiler's performance or is the problem elsewhere?
