Hi all, quick question if I may.

I am trying to understand my heating set up a bit more, ultimately I want to have a better understanding for when I approach a heating engineer regarding some work I would like done - including moving a a few bits around to make some space - and introducing some UFH.

I've traced the pipe work and drawn the diagram below - the bit I am not 100% about is the expansion vessel being plumbed into both the flow and return - does that sound valid? Everything I managed to find online only had it plumbed into the return. The system works, but wondering if I've missed something when 'mapping it' or if it is indeed a valid configuration.

Thank you

Classic case of posting too early
Had a closer look at found a gate valve on the pipe back to the flow... which was closed, so in effect, only connected to the return as you said.

Not sure why that might be needed, but that's not important I suppose.

Thank you

Are there any valves in the vessel pipework? If not, the water can short circuit through the pump and boiler without going through the rads or HW cylinder.

You called it - found a gate valve which is closed!
