I have a pump to create pressure when the second floor shower is being used, it keeps going off randomly around every ten minutes. Any ideas what this is and how I sort it?? Many thanks
If it's only connected to the shower then the most likely fault is that a flow sensor has failed. When you start the shower then movement of the water through the pump starts it running. Sometimes the sensor is mounted on the outside of the supply pipes and can come loose (Stuart Turner Mosoon series for instance)
Just as a double check make sure that when you stop the shower that there isn't any significant dripping from the shower head - sometimes enough to trigger a sensitive flow switch.
If it reliably switches on then it may be switching off when it overheats. It might do that afte 10 mins of water flowing on only one side. Eg if you're only pumping hot water and no cold, the cold side could overheat.
