Looking for a bit of advice please...

I've had an outbuilding/shed built and the detail is very similar to the diagram I found below.

The DPM sits under the slab and in most places has been brought up the sides of the slab to meet the DPC under the soleplate. However in certain places the DPM wasnt left with enough overlap to reach the DPC and so has been left flapping against it trapping rain water.

I know in the detail below they mention leaving it below the footing and I think they do similar stateside.

What I want to know is can I just cut the DPM back down to ground level (my levels are similar to below diagram) and if so once the slab is exposed is it fine to leave it exposed to let the wind get to it ? Or would it be better to use some kind of seal on it like Black jack ? In addition to the drawing below my shed will have a DPM internally that meets the DPC before the cellotex and floating floor is installed.

Failing that would I be better to try and lap up the DPM as best I can and try and seal it tight against the slab ? I'm thinking then I could build up the finished ground level to try and hide the mess !

It's been down a fair while and floor inside is bone dry but trying to avoid future problems !
