I've stripped my walls back to brick in my bathroom and I'm trying to decide what to do with the surface now. There are a fair few pipes running around the perimeter, close to the walls. For this reason, it seems like battening out the walls may be appropriate and the pipework could be hidden within. If I were to do so, would I need to repoint/render the walls first, they aren't in a great state (see image attached).
Please let me know of any other options if you can think of a better solution. It's all solid brick as it's a Victorian building, I've read that only lime mortar is appropriate.
