Hi,

I've got a 1930s Semi with solid brick walls and the original roughcast render, which presumably will contain lime for the solid brick to breathe?

What's the best way to go about improving the look of it? as it's showing its age and doesn't look great.

Had quotes to hack off and re-render with another lime based solution but was silly money, current roughcast render still has a good bond and we don't have any damp issues on the external wall. I was thinking of using earthborn silicate primer & silicate masonry paint, is this a good shout?

I'm just cautious not to introduce any damp issues as it's a big wall (8x6m) but need to make it look a bit nicer!

Cheers
