Extending a downpipe across a small roof

As per attached photo, during heavy rain the water flows down the extension roof in a valley and overshoots the lower gutter.

I have two ideas to fix this:

1) Add a shoe to the upper downpipe and point it 45 degrees to spread the water across the roof so it flows down multiple valleys. Cheap and easy but Im not sure it will completely fix the overshoot problem.

2) Extend the downpipe so it flow directly into the lower gutter. I am planning to do this. I have ordered 2.5M of downpipe, and 2x 90degree offset bend to use at the top to get the correct angle down to the lower gutter. I will then add a shoe on the end of the new 2.5M downpipe and point it into the gutter. Is there a better way of doing this, e.g I was wondering if I should replace the hopper with a large box one and extend into that.

I pushed a handful of wire mesh up mine so as to spread the flow as it exits the first down pipe - and that stopped the over flow on the lower gutter

Try the shoe first pointing to the side. Check the tile overlap though.
Try not to do option 2. Downpipes running down tiled roofs look shyte and also they blow off in a strong storm.

Raising the lower gutter will help.

Lower gutter need fixing , not surprised it over flows, may be all that’s required. Left end is unsupported and drooping.

Thanks all for the input.

I added the shoe and pointed it across the roof, this improves the situation a lot and splits the flow into 3 tile grooves. In medium rain it is less prone to overflow. But in very heavy rain, which we had just now, it still overflows as per photo attached.

The drooping end piece I adjusted earlier it wasnt slotted in properly, this catches water from the first tile groove, but the overflow is happening on the 3 grooves to the right of this. Blocking the shoe with metal wire just made it drop into the 1st groove and overflow, I also dont like this approach as if I block it enough it will back up the 2m gutter and overflow above.

My idea now is to try to raise the lower gutter slightly, as it seems to only need another 2cm, however I am not sure this is possible or how to do it. I have no idea if it is sitting too low currently and how to adjust it without reinstalling the brackets.

The other idea is to make a DIY 'height extension' to that gutter by screwing in a 5cm x 50cm thick plastic/metal sheet, to catch the overflow.

Photos attached to illustrate.
