I am installing a new consumer unit in a 1970’s house and need to extend the existing gas and water bonding conductors.
Am i right to say that i can simply extend the bonding conductors with connector blocks providing the maximum permitted resistance of each bonding conductor does not exceed 0.05 ohms and the connector blocks can be accessed for future inspection/testing etc?

No.

They can only be extended with a permanant joint, even if it remains accessible.

Soldering or through crimping are the two easiest options.
