Extending grp roof

Hi all,

We are having a small extension built in front of our garage, the garage has a grp roof is it possible to join the new extension roof into the existing grp roof with a joint that will last long term of should we really be replacing the whole grp roof?

Yes you can join it. You/whoever will have to grind the topcoat off then wash the exposed clear resin with acetone (to get rid of the dust and open up the resin bond a bit) then start the new bit of laminate on the cleaned old bit. Be careful not to build up too much, you might get ponding behind the join
