Extending individual corese

What is the best way to extend individual mains cores within a socket housing?

1) Crimping
2) Solder and heat shrink sheath
3) connector block

Are there any other options? Cables are plastered in and it would be painful to replace.

termina block tends to be rather bulky and therefore hard to get into the enclosure

soldering is fine IF you are good at it but i wouldn't generally reccomend it

so most sparks i know use crimps but if you use theese make sure you get a decent ratchet crimper

since it will be inaccessable (in the wall) you cannot use a terminal block. it must be permanent (i.e crimped, soldered)

I think he means in behind a socket front (in the back box).

Still go for the crimp option - with a ratchet crimper.

If you are able to extend the ring from a socket itself, would it be ok to fit a connector block within the pattress rather than soldering or crimping ?
