Can you use a 30A JB to make a cable in the ring main longer provided the JB is accessible for testing/checking in the future (e.g. cable from ring main goes to JB, new longer cable then goes to socket)?

Does Part P say anything about this?

Thanks

Are you running a spur, or are you making a bigger ring? What will be on the end of this new cable?

John, it does say 'extending a ring'.
It best to run new cable from existing socket rather than join it. Rather than a J.B. I use crimps covered over with heat shrink sleeving. The joint then does not need to be accessible.
