Extending the main cable of a cooker

Can i extend the main cable coming in to the switch box of a cooker or must i run a new cable. can i crimp additional cable on.

providing that the overload protection is adequate for the new length, you can crimp join the cable to extend it. but note that if you do extend it to make sure its still in permitted areas or the cable is adequatly protected
