Hi,
I have read similar posts, but I want to make sure I understand exactly what we should do. We have quite short wiring supplying two ceiling lights and we are about to have new slightly lower ceilings put in so we need to extend the wire a little so that we can still attach our lights. One of the wires I think has already been extended with what I think is called a choc block (not by us), is this acceptable? Under the floor boards isn't easy to access so we ideally want to extend the wire from below. I have seen mention of a 4-way 20A junction box, is that the thing to use? Does the junction box have to be fixed above the ceiling to a joist or can we join the cable and just place it back up into the void? I'm quite irritated as just had an electrician do a partial rewire and didn't think of this job till after and I don't think it is worth getting him back as I think it is quite a simple job, just want to make sure we do it the best way.
Thanks.
