I have a new light fitting I want to install in my dining room. It needs to fit flush with the ceiling, but only has two terminals (plus earth).

The existing ceiling rose obviously has to be removed, but what should I do with the other wires which run to it? Is it ok to choc block them together and push them back up into the ceiling void?

Or do I need a junction box up there? I have no access from above and I'd prefer not to have to drill bit holes in the ceiling.

Thanks for any help...
