Extension on wimpey no-fines

Hi,

We are considering building a two storey extension on the back of our wimpey no-fines ex-council pebbledash.

Now, I know that the walls are poured concrete, which can make things more complicated. My question is how complicated?

I know there is a reinforcing steel band around the house at just over first floor window height, having encountered it when drilling for an extractor. We will need to make a first floor opening - will we find another? What happens if we do?
