We are considering buying a 1930's detached property, however the outside wall is very close to the neighbours garage. For the length of the neighbours garage the gap is circa 40cm between walls, and where the chimney is it is circa 10cm. The house is rendered. How would you maintain or repair this wall? It has never needed repair by current owners (20years), but that does not mean it will not eventually. The floor has a concrete bevel to get the water to run away from the chimney width.
