External Expansion Vessel

Quick question,

We fitted a external 10l expansion today to system boiler (the one at the back of the boiler leaked when the air valve on top was pushed)

The new expansion vessel was preset to 1.5bar I think, the guy I work with said this was too much and reduced to 0.7 I believe, If this was left at 1.5bar what problems would this cause, I did ask him but he went on about other things and I took nothing in.

If it's set too high the heating water won't be able to compress the air sufficiently to correctly take up the expansion

I was taught the pressure should be approx. 0.5 bar per storey of your house.
