I'm just about to fit a external expansion vessel and was wondering wether you leave the internal one as it is or do you have to blank it off? Also do you have to pressurise the external one to the same bar as the specification of the internal one cheers.
Guessing you have a combi, as you don't say. If the boiler's internal EV is sound and not leaking, just leave it as is. New EVs often need the pressure dropping on them. Before connecting it to the system, I would get new EV to approx. .8 to .9 of a bar assuming an average domestic ch system.
Hi yes thanks it is a combi the internal one isn't leaking just the bladder has gone it's full of water. The manual says the internal one is pressurised to .5 bar was wondering if the new one had to be the same cheers
