Hi my 1930 semi is a solid wall construction and externally pebble dash rendered.

I am looking into EWI options and I wonder if anyone tried to use the SuperQuilt system?

Their datasheet claims two 38mm cavities + the superquilt sandwiches between can achieve 0.30 U-Value.

Very impressive to me and in particular:
1. Vapour control layer is quite robust
2. Potentially I do not need to hack of the existing pebble dash?

Any opinion?

Alternatively, I looked into EPS board also... Do I need to remove the existing rendering in that case?

Thank you and Regards

H

Super quilt and the like are not that credible for internal insulation, so I'd hate to think how it performs externally. Heat coming out the house wall into a ventilated cavity does not seem to be a good way of insulating.

As for the render, that's for the installation firm to decide and worry about. You'll need to check their product certification and install guide.
