How do we find out / tell what type of external walls (breeze block, brick, timber, any other type?) we have?

There's two approaches:
Non-intrusive which is consulting plans, neighbours, tapping and listening, investigation, measuring, etc and
Intrusive, which is using tools like drill, hammer & chisel, spy camera, etc.
