Hi

I am wanting to hang quite a heavy mirror on an external wall. Wall is plasterboard which is dot n dabbed onto blockwork (not sure if its breeze or thermalite blocks). Mirror weighs approx 17kg.

What is the best type of wall plug to hold such a mirror?

Heavy duty plasterboard toggle type or brick wall plug in the blockwork?

Thanks in advance.

through the plaster and into the block

you can improve the hold of the plasplug by squirting NoMoreNails or similar deep into the hole before inserting the plug and letting it set firm before driving the screw. This is a fantastic tip in loose or crumbly holes.

Hoover the dust out of the hole first, or wash it out with water (which I think is better)
