Hi All,

We are installing a new kitchen, and I have an extractor fan problem. The kitchen has fixed ducting which passes through the extension to the exterior wall. This is inaccessible to change as it bends up from the kitchen and travels under the first floor bedroom (which has fitted wardrobes! and interlocking chipboard floorboards) for about 3 metres. This ducting is 100mm ducting.

We have been looking at the Elica Elite extractor fan. The Elite 26 is more powerful and has 150mm ducting outlet. The Elite 14 is less powerful and has a 125mm ducting outlet.

Given the length of the ducting and that it cannot be easily changed for 150mm ducting, would I be better off getting the 26 so that there is more pressure to push air along the total length of the ducting, or getting the 14 to minimise the reduction in pipe diameter?

Help and advice gratefully appreciated.
