extractor fan in bathroom

can anybody help i have taken down my old extractor fan in the bath room this one would stay on for a while after the light switch has been
turned off the new one i have purchased only has live and neutral
on the connecter block .but there is three wires ie yellow / red / and blue
have i bought the wrong fan or can this one be used

I hope you made a note (by looking at how the terminals on the old fan were marked) which is switched live, permanent live and neutral...

You haven't bought the same type of fan. You can use it - you'll need to make the unused permanent live safe in a piece of choc-block, but the fan won't stay on after the light is turned off, so it may end up not being any use.
