Hi

We looking at adding an extra extractor fan to our bathroom but unsure if we can go through the flat roof or through the soffit?

The flat roof would be easier as would not need to cut the joists etc and go directly above.

But the flat roof is not made of felt its a white plastic tyoe material.

But would it not be more water tight through the soffit

seen a few kits on screwfix

Just unsure flat roof or soffit

any advice would be great

making holes in roofs tends to cause leaks.

It should be ok going through the roof if you are employing a roofer, if you are diy'ing it then thats another matter.
