Hi

Do they sell cloakroom fans with a backdraft flap built into the fan unit itself ?

Don't want to spend loads of money.

I know that if I fit a traditional setup with external flap, it will make an already cold toilet, freezing.

Thanks

yes

you can also set a separate add-on flap unit that fits into the duct or the back of the (same make or similar) fan

I also recommend the Cowl vent, which has weather protection and a single large flap, and is more durable than the type like a rattly little venetian blind.

the vent goes on the outside of the wall where the duct exits. The flap shuts when the fan is not running, it is pushed open by the air pressure.

here is an example quiet modern fan with its own backdraught flaps. This model also has a run-on timer. It is pretty certain to be much quieter than your old fan.

this cheaper one has no timer but is equally high quality

What size is your duct? Do you have steamy showers? Do you have access above to fit a loft-mounted fan to the duct?

here is an add-on shutter. More modern ones have a soft, lightweight flap that opens and closes silently (as fittd to the fans I linked above)
