extractor for cooker in chimney

we are getting gas range installed in chimmney breast cavity how can i vent / extract up chimney can i still have a hood?

i would imagine venting into a chimney would be to much of a distance for a normal extractor to blow air for.

you could consider a re-circulating hood wwhich filters the ait and doesnt need a vent pipe.

Also not a good idea as hot moist air being blown up the chimney will cause condensation higher up with possible damp problems.

In extremis you may get water running back down.
