Bought a replacement float valve for the F&E tank (a Pt 2 one) as the old one was dripping.

Trouble is the new one is too long for the tank!

I have a spare WC float valve that would fit but not sure if it's up to the job?

Would the WC one suffice or should I try to get a shorter Pt 2 valve?

Thanks

p.s. needless to say the old float valve is in the bin and collected about 20 mins ago...

Is it just the float sticks out too much, or is the float arm too long?

If the former, then just turn the float 'inwards'.
