how easy is it to change from a fan light to a normal light fitting?

i had a normal light fitting in my living room. then a friend of mine changed it to a fan light ? only a small thing. and now i want to put a normal light fitting back up. i want to know if the wireing is the same? glad you enjoyes the reply

Does the fan just go on and off with the light, or is there a separate on/off and/or speed control?
