Fast recovery hot water tank

Hi

We have a large family 2 adults 4 kids and seem to be running out of hot water.

At the mo we have standard foam covered tank 106cm x 50cm and a potterton prima 50b boiler.

We are think of installing a taller water tank, we had a suggestion that we should instal a fast recovery tank.

Could you please explain what this is and if it would be a good idear or a waste of money

Under Part L of the building regs all new cylinders must have a recovery time of under twenty minutes.
