Hi

Had a power cut 2 weeks ago which set off accenta 6 alarm. Ex managed to stop it ringing but the light has been flashing since. There appears to be no power to the power unit except a background light, and unable to put in code etc I never use the alarm, it was just in the house when I moved in. Someone in a previous topic suggested that the way to stop the lght flashing is to cut the strobe wire in the power unit. Can I ask an incredibly dim question, as my knowledge of electrics and DIY is minimal. Do I just simply use a screwdriver to unscrew the screw holding this wire in? Am Ilikely to electrocute myself doing this? Help needed :o) Thanks for reading.

Why not fix the fault?

All it needs is a new battery, remove mains power, open panel, put in code in to stop alarm (it might not ring), take battery to maplins and replace.

Be aware that there is mains, so PLEASE be careful.
