Fax Problems On A ADSL Phone Line..

I have a all in one printer with a fax on it, the problem is i can send faxes but not recieve them?!
I have a micro filter fitted with the fax on it nothing else any ideas?

Is the 'all in one' a 'stand alone'? It may have have the facility to send faxes without the PC software, but not receive - some have to be connected to a PC to receive.

I think faxes are a ridiculous thing to do.

I've very occasionally sent and received faxes, e,g, hotels sending me maps, using the PC; me sending copies of certificates relating to jobs.

My PCs can auto-answer and auto-receive faxes, but I don't do it, I tell people I haven't got a fax machine and email a scan. If you've got a dial-up line you can probably use WinFax but I can't remember how.

Dial the machines telephone number from your mobile phone and check that the fax machine is giving out it's fax tones, you may have the machine on a mode where it cannot receive faxes (like telephone only mode).

If it's not giving out fax tones, check the mode it's in.
